Storage platform bed – As every ten-year-old boy can tell you, the space under your bed makes for an effective storage solution. A bed measuring 18 inches high covers more than 50 cubic meters of storage space. By building a bedside with storage options, you can take advantage of that space and save money compared to buying a prefabricated bed frame. Set an afternoon for this project, plus overnight for the color to dry.
Cut your planks and plywood to the required lengths using your chainsaw. Sand all faces storage platform bed in your wood with coarse sandpaper. Set a 78-inch plank and a 60-inch plank together in an L-shape, with the end of the longer plank against the surface of the shorter. Attach them with two L-hinges as in the inside corner, set each stag 3 inches from either edge of the planks. Set the other 60-inch plank against the free end of the 78-inch plank. Attach with two L-hinges as before.
Slide the other 78-inch plank between the two 60-inch planks, parallel to the first 78-inch plank and 20 inches away from it. Attach two L-hinges to each corner, as before. Lay the storage platform bed on top of the frame you have built side by side with their outer edges flush with the outer edges of the frame. Screw down the plywood board resting on the open side of the frame using any wooden screw for each corner. Run the screws through the sheet and into the edge of the shelf below.
